In November 2024, the low-cost retailer GiFi was put up for sale by its founder, Philippe Ginestet , due to ongoing financial difficulties. On January 17, 2025, an agreement was reached with the creditor banks, providing for the cancellation of more than €300 million of the total €470 million in debt.
